Important Notice: This is a legally binding agreement. By signing this document, you give up certain legal rights, including the right to sue Bridge Bike Works for negligence. Please read it carefully and ensure you understand it before signing. If you have any questions, ask a member of staff or consult a lawyer.

Part 1: Demo Bicycle Loan Terms and Conditions

I, the undersigned (the “Participant”), wish to borrow a demonstration (“demo”) bicycle and any related equipment (collectively, the “Bicycle”) from Bridge Bike Works, located in Ontario, Canada, at 41 Clarkson Ave, York, M6E 2T5.

I acknowledge and agree:

The Bicycle is provided on a free loan basis for demonstration/test ride purposes only. No rental fee is charged, but a refundable security deposit or credit card hold may be required to cover potential damage or loss.
The Bicycle has been inspected by Bridge Bike Works staff and is provided in good working order. It is my responsibility to perform a final pre-ride check (brakes, tires, gears, etc.) before leaving the shop. I confirm the Bicycle is satisfactory for my use.
I agree to use the Bicycle only for its intended purpose and in a careful, responsible manner. I will wear an approved helmet at all times (mandatory under Ontario law for persons under 18 and strongly recommended for adults). I will obey all traffic laws, ride defensively, and avoid hazardous conditions.
The Bicycle must be returned by the agreed time in clean condition (normal wear and tear accepted). Late returns may result in additional charges or forfeiture of future demo privileges.
I accept full responsibility for the care and security of the Bicycle while it is in my possession. In case of damage (i) damage beyond normal wear and tear, (ii) loss, or (iii) theft, I agree to pay the full retail repair or replacement cost (including parts, labour at shop rates, and any accessories provided). Bridge Bike Works may charge the credit card I provide for this purpose.
If asked and agreed to, I authorize Bridge Bike Works to place a temporary hold on my credit card and/or retain a copy of my government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s licence) for the duration of the loan as security.
Any demo fee paid (if applicable) or security deposit will be credited or refunded in full upon satisfactory return of the Bicycle.

Part 2: Acknowledgement of Risks

I understand that cycling is an inherently dangerous activity that carries significant risks of serious injury, paralysis, or death, as well as property damage or loss. These risks include, but are not limited to:

Falls, collisions with other cyclists, pedestrians, animals, vehicles, or fixed objects
Road or trail hazards (potholes, debris, gravel, ice, wet surfaces)
Equipment failure (even properly maintained bicycles can malfunction)
Weather conditions, traffic, and poor visibility
My own physical condition, experience level, or errors in judgment
I confirm that I am in good physical health, have sufficient cycling experience for the intended use, and have no medical conditions that would make cycling unsafe for me. I agree to ride within my abilities.

Part 3: Waiver, Release and Indemnity

In consideration of Bridge Bike Works lending me the Bicycle, I agree as follows for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns:

I voluntarily assume all risks (known and unknown) associated with using the Bicycle and participating in cycling.
I release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Bridge Bike Works, its owners, employees, agents, contractors, and affiliates (the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death that may occur, even if caused or alleged to be caused by the negligence (but not gross negligence) of the Released Parties.
This release specifically includes, but is not limited to, claims for negligence in selecting, maintaining, inspecting, adjusting, or providing the Bicycle, or in failing to warn of any risks.
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims brought by third parties arising from my use of the Bicycle.
This agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by Ontario law. If any portion is held invalid, the remainder shall continue in full force.

Note on Gross Negligence: Nothing in this agreement releases Bridge Bike Works from liability for gross negligence, willful or reckless misconduct, as such releases are unenforceable under Ontario law.

Participant Acknowledgement

I have read and understand this entire agreement. I am signing it freely and voluntarily without any inducement. I am at least 18 years of age (or if under 18, my parent/guardian has also signed below).
